Monster Cleaning Wood Green charges one printed figure per appliance on an oven clean. A single is £77, a double £110, and a 90cm range or a two oven AGA £143. The hob is £23 for ceramic or £28 for gas, and the extractor £28, each its own line. Everything that lifts out is taken off to soak, and the cavity, the seals and the glass are worked by hand at your worktop while it does.

Why the shelves get a long soak
What sits on an oven shelf is fat that has been baked hard over a year of Sundays. Attack it at the sink and you will spend an hour, shift about half, and score the chrome with wire wool on the way. Time in a soak does it properly instead. Teams differ here. A few bring a heated tank on the van, which they use if there is a space near your door; otherwise the soaking is done in your kitchen, and the price stays put. Forty minutes or so and the carbon has gone soft enough for a plastic scraper. A mat goes down before anything is carried through and a board goes on the worktop, and every part is rinsed, dried and refitted before we drive off. Our water is hard here, close to 300 ppm, so racks left to air dry come up covered in white spotting and get towelled off instead. Small thing. It is the sort of detail people notice the second time we come.
The hob and the extractor are separate pieces of work
Each carries a figure of its own rather than being folded into the oven. A gas hob is £28, because caps, crowns and cast iron pan supports lift off and soak with the shelves, which on a five burner is an hour by itself. A flat ceramic or induction top is £23 and wants a blade, a mild cream and a fraction of that. The £28 extractor means filters out and soaking, and where a filter has never once been washed that is most of the job. Mention an oversized stainless canopy at the booking so the figure reaches you before the van does.
Ranges and AGAs
West of the High Road and up towards Bounds Green the kitchens were built or extended round a serious cooker, so the £143 range and the two oven AGA at the same figure see far more use there than in a converted flat on the parade. Switch an AGA off the previous evening. Cast iron sheds heat slowly and a warm one cannot be cleaned at all, so breakfast time is too late.
The door glass
Most double ovens run two or three panes with a gap between them, and that gap is precisely where brown drips end up. Where a door is built to be split by hand we take it apart, clean both faces of every pane and rebuild it.
Getting in and out of the building
In the newer car-free schemes around the High Road everything comes in from wherever we can stop, so give us the flat number and the door code at the booking and let the concierge know a cleaner is coming through with it. Over towards Tottenham a lot of flats sit above shops behind a street door that swings shut, so mention that when you book and the carry-in is planned around it.
Half of what looks burnt on is limescale
That grey haze on a ceramic or induction top is usually not food at all. It is hard water spotting left behind by a pan that boiled over, and a descaler plus a couple of minutes of waiting beats a blade for both speed and for the state of the surface afterwards. The splashback and the kettle beside it tell you the same story. It is the most common thing we correct in a Wood Green kitchen and it is not really dirt at all.
How long each one takes
Give a neglected single a couple of hours and a double about three. A range holding two cavities and a griddle plate can stretch to four. We would rather hold a whole morning and hand it back early than promise ninety minutes and rush the door glass. Bookings run 8am to 7pm on all seven days at one rate, so a Sunday teatime slot costs what a Wednesday morning costs.
Liners and coated panels
Say on the phone whether your oven has liners. The pads and products that bring bare enamel back will wreck a catalytic panel or a pyrolytic coating, so those get a soft wipe and nothing more, and they are never soaked. Hardly anybody knows which type they own. That is no trouble, because one look inside settles it. Treated that way, a self-cleaning panel keeps doing its job for years.
Before we arrive
Switch it off a good two hours before the slot. Product hitting a warm cavity flashes away before it has had a chance to do anything, and it is unpleasant work besides. Clear the run of worktop next to the cooker; that is where the board goes and where the door glass ends up lying. Beyond a socket and a tap we need nothing from the house.
Booking an oven with something else
One off bookings start at £67, which any oven clears by itself, so a hob or an extractor is best added to an oven visit. Booked with a move-out clean, the oven is still its own line but drops to £31, so a one bedroom handover with it done is £238. Households on the weekly round tend to add one once a year, and October is a far better month for that than the third week of December. Every figure is on the prices page, and 020 8077 9085 reaches a person.
Questions we get asked
How much does oven cleaning cost in Wood Green?
A single is £77 and a double £110. A 90cm range or a two oven AGA comes to £143. Hobs bill at £23 ceramic or £28 gas, and extractors at £28, each on its own line. The £67 one off minimum is cleared by any oven on its own.
Is the hob included in the oven price?
No. Hobs bill at £23 (ceramic) or £28 (gas) and extractors at £28, since each is a distinct piece of work. Caps and cast iron supports lift away to soak with the shelves, while a smooth top wants a blade and a gentle cream. Booked alongside the oven, all three get done on one visit.
Can I use the oven the same evening?
Yes. Once the cavity is dry, usually inside the hour, it is ready. Everything is rinsed off before we go; if the kitchen still smells of the products, give it some fresh air for a bit.
Do you clean AGAs and range cookers?
Yes. A two oven AGA is £143, a 90cm range the same, and both turn up far more in the larger houses west of the High Road than in a flat on the parade. The one condition is a stone cold cooker, so it goes off the previous evening.
The oven in my rented flat looks past saving. Is it worth doing?
Nearly always. Carbon on the cavity walls and the door glass comes off even where it looks hopeless. What does not come back is enamel that has crazed or pitted underneath, and you get told that on the day so you know what the £77 has bought.
