Seven days, 8am–7pm

Hornsey sits over the New River. It is N8, south west of Wood Green, with its own station on the Great Northern line down into Moorgate, and we are over there most weeks. Weekly housework is £23 per cleaner an hour, fortnightly £24, and a two bedroom move-out clean is £243.

Getting there takes longer than the map suggests

People assume we come by tube. We drive, and the New River and the railway between here and there make it a longer run than it looks, so Hornsey jobs are grouped onto the same days rather than scattered across the week. Ask for a Tuesday or a Thursday and you get a tighter arrival window than if you ask for a Friday.

Terraces, conversions and the ground floor damp

Most of the housing is Victorian terrace and a good share of it is split into an upper and a lower flat. The ground floor flat gets the garden. It also gets the damp. That is why we are called out for bathroom mould more often on this side than up on the hill. Mould gets treated rather than wiped over, and a bad patch is done twice about a fortnight apart so the wall stays clear through the winter.

Hard water on a weekly visit

The supply here sits near 300 ppm, hard enough that it shows within a fortnight. On a weekly slot that means the same ten minutes each time: screen, kettle, the ring round the tap base, and the shower head. Stay ahead of it and it never turns into a job. Leave a Hornsey bathroom three months and the first visit back is mostly bathroom, which is the honest reason we point people at a fortnightly slot rather than a phone call twice a year.

The same list as N22

Nothing is priced differently here. A studio move-out clean is £156, one bedroom £207, three bedrooms £339. On floors it is £36 for a room and £43 for a living room, £61 where two receptions were opened up, £41 for each stair flight, and £35 or £51 on a rug. Ovens are £77 single, hobs £23 to £28 and extractors £28. One off work starts at £67.

More regulars here than movers

Families stay longer on this side and there are fewer short lets than around Turnpike Lane at the other end of N8, so most of what we do in Hornsey is the weekly or fortnightly visit with the same cleaner each time. Three hours comes to £69, and ironing is £12 an hour on top. Nearly everybody leaves a key or fits a safe by the porch. Ring 020 8077 9085 between 8am and 7pm any day of the week.

Questions we get asked

Which days do you work in Hornsey?

Usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, because we group the N8 jobs onto one run. Other days are possible and the price is identical, you simply get a wider arrival window. Weekends and evenings are charged at the same rate.

Can you deal with bathroom mould?

We treat it rather than wipe it, leaving the treatment time to work before it is rinsed off.

Do you cover the streets towards Crouch End?

The N8 side, yes, at the same prices as the rest of the round. Give us the postcode when you ring and you will know inside the call where you fall.
